E10 – 2002 (1967 – 1977) The first modern BMW debuted at the Frankfurt auto show in 1961, and has people talking to this day. The philosophy of a sports car that is also practical was born in the 2002, and has carried on to its successor, the 3 Series.

E21 – 3 Series

(1975 – 1983) The original 3 Series. Known for its unique body styling and racing heritage, the E21 3 Series is a light, nimble, tail happy sports sedan with classic late 70’s lines offering a connection to the road that few newer cars can match.

E12 – 5 Series

From the very beginning the 5 Series has had cutting edge styling with leading edge performance. Comfortable on a plush drive, or capable in a performance setting, the 5 Series has always done it all.

E28 – 5 Series

The second generation of 5 Series became the standard by which the modern BMW sedan would judged. The pinnacle was the M5, which set the automotive world on fire and garnered a whole new class of sporting sedans that continues today.

E9 – Coupe

(1968-1977)

The sedan (E3) and coupe (E9) went on to earn quite a reputable name in auto racing. Models were given names denoting their engine sizes, and suffixes to indicate the long-wheelbase (L) and fuel injection (i) available on later cars. The coupés were all named CS, followed by i (for fuel injection models) or L (for light-weight models, which also had fuel injection and higher power).

E24 – 6 Series

Following the success of the BMW 3.0CS, the E24 6 Series coupe’s 1976 debut displayed ultra modern styling, true driver-oriented instrumentation, and set a new benchmark for luxury sports coupes.

NK – Neue Klasse

Powered by BMW’s celebrated four-cylinder M10 engine, the “New Class” models featured a fully independent suspension, front MacPherson struts, and front disc brakes.
